Forget purple drank

After a long day of working and learning all about women and television (thnx Harvard Summer School) all I wanna do is come home and have a smoothie and VEG out ahahaha. Even though I don't have 500 bucks to blow on a sick Vita-Mix, it turns out my blender works fine enough for that green drank I wanna make.

Forget that purple stuff, lookit all those sweet ass bits of strawberries, blueberries, and KALE. spinach has got nothing on this awesome leaf, it's the dopest green there is. Just throw that in a blender with some soy milk and watch your muscles pop up like a pimple on picture day.

My muffin top is all that. Whole grain, low fat.

It's not like I have a sweet toof or anything, but sometimes I just want some carbs. Because I don't buy bread or have any in the house, thank god for the microwave. Sure, there are plenty of recipes for single-serve whatever... but you have to bake those. I don't have the patience for that. I know "real cooks" are supposed to be all anti-microwave, but I am not. I like to cook, but I also like to nuke that shiz up from time to hence.

Not only do I have a microwave, but recently there was  sale for blueberries. 1.99 a pint. Of course that means I just HAD to buy 5 pints, and I probably should have bought more. In any case, I need to fine some way to use them all up.

And so. Blueberries + microwave = instant blueberry muffins. I am not above it, and I'm fine wif dat.

Throw a little cinnamon on there? It's puurrrrfect, like a cat birthday.

Welcome to Little Compton, Bitch

So a couple weeks ago my mom was like, yo take a day off and let's go somewhere. I have been extremely bummed because of the weather and not being able to get unstuck from this rut I'm in. So I was like, ok I'll see what I can do gurl. Let's do dis. I got my day off and fortunately it was on the day I had a 6:30 am morning meeting so that was pretty sweet, but at least I didn't have a million hours with nothing to do, especially what with the beautiful summer downpours and all.

Travel destination: Little Compton RI, where there are madd drive-by's. WASPS driving by the antique shops on their way to the beach. In Little Compton lies Sakonnet Vineyards, home of the most premier wines in the country. Forget Sonoma and Napa, that salty sea air just lends the flavor a certain "je ne sais quois".

The wines were quite good and a lovely day was had by all. And I couldn't help but recall my trip to Dry Creek Valley, home of many small, family-owned vineyards just near Sonoma. Yes, the beach is wonderful and Sakonnet was quaint as fuck, but something about the rolling hills and wineries for miles and miles and miles lets you know you are in true wine country.

Pops let me do my research and it seemed like Dry Creek Valley was the place to be AT, son. First stop was Zichichi, with the glorious views from the porch. We did a barrel tasting. I guess I know what "oaky" tastes like now. Fruity is pretty obvious, but the number of adjectives often used to describe the subtleties in the flavors of wine is slightly overwhelming. I mean, considering I'm such a snob I should know a little better but I'm fine with what I am able to discern at this point. As long as you see me swish it around in the glass for a sec before I smell it I should be fine.

When I move to San Francisco I can take more day trips to each and every winery to hone my palate. With those mountains majesty looming on the horizon, quaint can suck my balls. Just kidding, my granny ass loves antiques.

Ebony and Ivory

Living in perfect harmony

When it rains, and the peyes come out, it is time to let the weather get the better of you. Weather in Paris: 70's and sunny. Weather in Boston: rain. rain. rain. What that means is that it's time to have some wine (being very Parisian) and watch something on the boob tube. Namely, Arrested Development. It's just one of those days. Sometime soon I will go to the beach. Until then... chillin with my friends Charles Shaw and Mrs. Featherbottom.

My brain. It hurts.

Recently I have been combating a terrible case of the travel bug.  As long as I am relegated to living in Allston for however long I may as well pour salt on the wound and write ALL about it. But not really, mostly I just observe things sometimes and have thoughts about my observations and maybe I'll snap a photo. Hopefully my fantastic wit and sauciness will come across here, but probably not. Anyway... bienvenue!

Maybe someday I will see this when I look out the window of my future flat.
